Endoscopy [en-dos-kuh-pee]

noun, plural endoscopies. Medicine/Medical

During an upper endoscopy (EGD) procedure, your physician will insert an endoscope (a thin tube with a light and camera at its tip) through your mouth and down your esophagus to search for abnormalities inside your upper digestive system (the throat, stomach and first part of the small intestine).
